In this class, I researched learning outcomes for English Composition and reported results from an assessment of three of the outcomes for the course.

The Department of English completed its first round of outcomes assessment for English Composition in Summer 2012. The department scored 60 student portfolios, drawn from Spring 2012 sections of the course, on three of the seven learning outcomes for English 110.
Following that round, English Composition faculty reflected on the results and committed to making adjustments to improve student performance on substantive revision and textual engagement. Continued outcomes assessment will enable us to evaluate our progress in these areas.
