Flat Finley visits MARC!

We had a special visitor at MARC this month – Flat Finley.  Flat Finley arrived at MARC in standard USPS letter envelope – direct from California.  He arrived here on Feb 8, eager to tour MARC, meet the patients, learn about our work.  Just as his name indicates, he was also, well, Flat.

Based on the 1964 book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown, Flat Finley travels the world to visit friends via an envelope.  We were thrilled that Flat Finley made UNE’s Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center the first stop on his world travels… and thanks to our Program Coordinator for showing Finley around.  You can learn more about Flat Stanley here.

We can’t wait to see where Finley goes next!

FLAT FINLEY UPDATE (2/28/2012):

Last week, we received news that Finley had spent some  time visiting Eilat, Israel.  He stayed with a sweet family and “fell in love” with their cat (see photo).  After his visit, Finley was packed up and ready for his next portion of the journey.
