UNE microbiology faculty member Ling Cao is spearheading an interdisciplinary research project focused on the treatment and management of chronic pain. She is partnering with the Mercy Pain Center in Portland, Maine to look at the intersection of physical, economic, social, and health care treatments and effects of chronic pain.
