University of New England students and faculty arrived in Sekondi Saturday at 3am after two long days of travel. We were welcomed by Reverend Andoh and several community workers. Following a few hours of sleep, clinic orientation was held followed by a long walk through the streets of Sekondi. We all attended the church service on Sunday where Mrs. Robert Andoh, Augustina, served at the guest preacher.
Clinic began the afternoon of Sunday, July 29th. Students and faculty set up the clinic and saw 25 patients as a way of easing in. It was seamless and effortless.
The Cross Cultural Health Initiative-Ghana is privileged to have Hilarie Jones, APRN and Kathy Palimeri, APRN as perennial outside participants to the program offering excellent mentoring for our health professions students.
